CR7’s Arm-Band Might Just Save a Life?
You might recall that a while ago, 5 time world champion Cristiano Ronaldo stormed off the pitch in Belgrade with an emotional display that saw him cast away his captain armband, after match officials denied his stoppage time winner against Serbia.
Though the match ended 2-2 draw, that theatrical act, is set to save a toddler’s life.
The arm band has been sold at a charity auction for 7.5 million Dinars ($75K) to aid the treatment of Gavrilo Djurdjevic who was only 6 months old at the time of the auction, and is suffering from spinal atrophy.
Gavrilo Djurdjevic mother, Nevena, said the family had received donations of around 500,000 euros ($587,900) since CR7’s cast away armband auction.
