Official: Manchester United have completed the signing of Willy Kamwala from Sochaux, for a free rising to €4m.
Manchester United have confirmed the signing of French defender Willy Kambwala from Sochaux.
The 16-year-old centre-back has captained France’s Under-17s and will initially join up with United’s Under-18s
Kambwala is highly rated in France and his arrival continues United’s policy of acquiring the best talent from around Europe for their academy sides this summer.
They are currently pursuing deals for 18-year-old wingers Amad Traore and Facundo Pellistri from Atalanta and Uruguayan side Penarol respectively on deadline day, though the pair could quickly become first-team options for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The fee for Kambwala is understood to be in the region of £3.5million and hopes are high that the teenager can graduate up the United teams in the near future.
